What was the highlight of Hostel Vanilla 2 Dongdaemun

Basically satisfied with for the price.

1) It's location is pretty convenient, walkable distance from Dondaemun and Dondaemun DDP Market, and accessibility to 2 subway lines (Line No.2 and No.6). 2) The hostel was clean in the front, kitchen and the personal room. 3) All the staff was pretty kind and communicative speaking fluent English. 4) When I made some confirmation before check-in by e-mail, they quickly respond to me. And, after check-in in the morning, I became a friend with the hostel account in LINE app. and they sent me a message in the afternoon kindly telling me my room got ready.

1) The hostel had 2 building, main building and annex building, which was just 1-2 minutes away from the main building. In the main building, I think the light was turned on through the nights and the entrance was locked with digital password. But, the annex building was dark at night and there was no lock in the entrance of the building. (Of course each room had a lock though). 2) There was no curtain in bathroom, between toilet and shower. 3) Noise was coming from the room next door, probably the wall was thin.

Second time to stay here and I like everything. . .

This is my second stay at Hostel Vanilla Dongdaemun, still enjoy and having good time here as the first time. Staffs are very useful. Rooms are clean and location is good. Dongmyo Station connects to both line 6 and Line 1 conveniet to go to several tourist places. also nearby hostel has many dining places.

The small studio that I stayed, the wall was a bit thin so you might hear some noise from the next room but after midnight was fine.

Best location!

The location is perfect!! You can explore Seoul easy from there by metro, bus and even walking! Also a lot of restaurants and amazing shopping areas in walking distance from the hostel!

The room was really small so for two persons with big luggage almost a little too tight.

Good place to stay

Location is really good, near train station and others amenities. My room was upgraded to a small studio with washing machine, fridge, but at the building next door. Room is clean, staffs are friendly. Breakfast will be cooked by ourselves but it is good.

The room is not sound proof, the Chinese couple next to my room were really noisy at nights, even it was 0 AM. Bed is quite small for a couple. Only 2 pillows. Room is a bit small.

Comfort at a little cost

The Vanilla Suite was very spacious and nicely decorated. The hosts, Moon and the other guy were very warm and helpful! They were also very generous with the breakfast, you can just get anything from their fridge and pantry. They also helped us with the transportation going to and from the hostel/airport and some tourist attractions. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. Thank you, Hostel Vanilla 2!!! :)

Everything. The place was very convenient and it was a beautiful place, much better than we expected. The host is a lovely woman willing to help you as much as she can! They even offer a free laundry service. Such a lovely hostel!!!

I fell in love with Seoul and Vanilla Hostel also. Can't wait to get back there.

The receptionists are very friendly. They helped us a lot with our lugages and recommended places for us. Although the room is small, it had all the things that we need, even more.

It was hard to find the hostel because it is in an alley, not a main street. We needed lots of help from local people to get there.

Friendly staff

We had our room upgraded to a studio which meant a bit more room and some kitchen facilities. The room was on the 4th floor without a lift which might be a problem for others but the staff offer to help you with luggage. Spoke very good English and a self-serve breakfast. The breakfast/reception area was in a separate building but on the last day when it was raining we were given umbrellas to get to and from! Would stay again, the staff are lovely and very friendly.

The bed may be a little hard for some and walls are thin.

What was the highlight of Hostel Vanilla 2 Dongdaemun

The hostel owner was really nice to us. He even helped to carry our luggages up the stairs and was very informative. He was really really helpful when I had to check in super late at night after the standard check in time due to my flight delay. He left a note on the door specially for me to guide me to my room and gave me all the info I needed even through Whatsapp.

A little small and there is no elevator.

Cute hostel close to the city center

The hostel is cute and well designed, 5 min walking from the subway. The staff was really keen. The room was bigger than the average and clean.

Not suggested if you have a car because located in the city center in a narrow street
